Ingredients:

Apples

Slivered almonds

Preparation:

Just quarter and core an apple, cut a wedge from the skin side of each quarter, then press slivered almonds in place for teeth. Tip: If you're not going to serve them right away, baste the apples with orange juice to keep them from browning.

Haunted Graveyard Appetizer

Ingredients:
1/2 cup fresh spinach
10 ounces hummus
Vegetables (we used broccoli and celery)
Pretzels
Hard-boiled eggs
Crackers
Black olives
Edible marker
Carrot sticks

Preparation:
In a food processor, puree the spinach and hummus.

To make the boiled-egg ghosts, cut slits and insert black-olive facial features. Use an edible marker to turn crackers into tombstones.

Mound the dip on a tray and top it with veggie trees, a pretzel fence, boiled-egg ghosts, and cracker tombstones.

Melon Brain

Ingredients:
1 small seedless watermelon

Preparation:
Use a vegetable peeler to remove the entire green rind, exposing the inner white rind.
Slice off the bottom of the melon to create a flat base that will keep it from rolling. With a toothpick, outline squiggly furrows that resemble the folded surface of a brain.
Finally, carve narrow channels along the tracings with a sharp paring knife (a parent's job) to expose the pink fruit beneath the rind.

There's something so tasty and special about delicious cheese wrapped in pastry. And its even better when its a super easy recipe that anyone can make! Here is a wonderful recipe from All Recipes for a Brie Cheese Appetizer.

INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) wheel Brie cheese
3 tablespoons apricot preserves
1/2 (17.5 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 egg white

DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

2. Slice one wheel of Brie cheese in half so you have 2 circles of cheese. Spread apricot or peach preserves on (the cut side) half of one circle of brie. Make sandwich out of the two halves of Brie, so that the preserves are in the center of both halves. Wrap the entire wheel of Brie with one sheet of puffed pastry and flip the entire concoction onto the prepared cooking sheet so the seam is on bottom. Brush the puffed pastry with the egg white.

3. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the pastry in golden brown. Serve immediately.
